THCa flower is the real deal! Marijuana typically has 15-30% THC content, with most of that THC in the form of THCa and a small amount (a few percent) in the form of Delta-9 THC. This is why you won’t feel anything if you try eating a bit of marijuana–only a little of it is accessible to your body as Delta-9. When heat is applied to it (such as a lighter), the THCa converts to Delta-9 THC and results in the psychoactive effect that cannabis is famous for.
In order to comply with the .3% Delta-9 THC threshold that was adopted by the federal government with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, growers have worked to get the Delta-9 THC content below the .3% mark while maintaining THCa levels of 20-30% or even higher (no pun intended)! This is not “infused flower” and there’s no Delta-8 involved. This is cannabis that has been tweaked so that it is now legal in most states–even some of those that have not legalized marijuana–like North Carolina!
